villa saudade
With Villa Saudade, since we didn’t want to take anything away from the piece of art that the majestic 4500 sqft 400 year old house was, our design inputs were simple and contextual. We decided to retain but refine most elements- restored the mother of pearl windows, renovated the bathrooms, redesigned the outdoor shed into a large kitchen, filled the garden with tropical plants and introduced a pool.
We even chose to retain the white and blue external facade that Villa Saudade was known by, but used an eggshell white and a soothing aqua. We chose to extend this palette the interiors as well, where neutral tones are accentuated with tones of turquoise, teal and indigo. Majority of the furniture items in the home were restored and refurbished pieces and the decor, art and lights have been sourced from Goan markets, local artists and vintage stores.
