saligao house
The vision for the Saligao House was to create a space that was calming and peaceful, that felt old yet new, nostalgic yet practical. We consciously decided to hold on to elements of architectural value, and let go of interventions that didn’t align with our vision.
We opted for a palette of natural and handmade materials for the home. We chose to retain the red oxide flooring from the original home, and built our palette around it. Soft shades of dusty rose and ivory for the exterior and warm teak wood, natural honey kota, patterned tiles and salmon cement oxide in the interior. The home is complete with antique Goan light fixtures, wooden furniture, pastel hued soft furnishings and soothing art.
