162
The idea behind 162 was to transform our client’s childhood apartment from the 90’s into a home for a young, fun, newly married couple who enjoy entertaining, work from home, share a passion for good design, food, music and love to travel.
Being a footprint of merely 800sqft, we wanted to make the apartment as light, minimal and airy as possible while still creating the warmth, coziness and depth synonymous to a comfortable home.
We stripped down almost everything from the apartment down to its bones, intentionally leaving behind the Italian marble flooring in the main areas of the house- to retain a hint of nostalgia. Using the colours from the marble, we began building our palette and weaving a story of materials that would later tie in to become a home. We created a space that feels beautiful but more importantly personal, and one that has room to grow with the owners.
